1970 MGB GT V8 Conversion

I took over as the caretaker of this 1970 MGB GT V8 Conversion from none other than Rick Astley. Rick is the person who literally wrote the book on MGB Electrical Systems. My stewardship started in April 2015 and I subsequently sold the 1972 MGB Roadster that had been my learning project.

The main elements of this conversion are:

  • Oldsmobile version of the GM215 Aluminum V8
  • Land Rover Discovery LT 77 Gearbox/transmission
  • 3.08:1 Rear Differential
  • Mallory electronic ignition
  • Panasport 15 inch alloy wheels

Journal of Maintenance and Projects

As a custom car, and one not built by me, maintenance and repairs sometimes become an adventure. This is because you may have to identify the issue and then identify parts.

I have kept some journal entries just for the MGB GT. Hop over to this separate page to see the journal entries for this car.
