Delivery Checklist

A delivery checklist is one of the many documents that came with my 1977 MGB. I have a large stack of invoices for just about every piece of work or part that had been purchased over the years. I have organized this into an old fashioned binder and maintain it with my own sets of invoices and records.

The original dealer delivery checklist is one of my favorite pieces of documentation. Just wish I had the original window sticker from the car also. This is another element of my originality documentation. I have some period TV and print advertisements related to the “extras” installed as well as a British Motor Heritage Certificate.

Dealer Delivery Checklist

Below is the delivery checklist. I keep a copy with my car for shows and have the original safely in my historical document binder for the car. I think it is a wonderful bit of history and helps confirm things like the engine number which is still the original engine in the car. It’s interesting to see this piece of history. I also wonder if the technician “Wayne” is still around and what he might think about this. It is likely this was a purely routine activity for Wayne at the time. However, his work on producing the checklist is going to live on and long outlast him regardless.

It appears that Kansas City British Motors Inc ceased trading in 1983. That would fit with the timeline of the end of MG and the dismal situation with the Triumph brand as the remaining solution for British Leyland’s US sales!

I’ve built this website and spent time on the knowledge base to bring together a lot of information I have collected from around the internet. The intent is making it easy to find rather than having to know about and have skills with search engine query terms to get what you were looking for. Please make use of the knowledge base.
